Selena VMA Pre-Show Host

Selena Gomez will be MTV’s celebrity host of their Pre-VMA Show!

The singer/actress will be on the award show’s black carpet live on Sunday, Aug. 28 starting at 8pm. "I am very excited to be a part of the 2011 VMA's," said Gomez. "After all of my years watching the VMA's, the pre-show has always been one of my favorite parts.  It is a true honor to be hosting from the black carpet this year."

MTV Review : PNC Bank Artist Centre

On Saturday night, Selena Gomez rocked the PNC Bank Arts Center, the latest stop on her We Own the Night Tour. While the crowd held up glow sticks, it was the rising teen star who lit up the amphitheater with her glittering outfits and upbeat energy. (…) Backed by her band, the Scene, Selena danced across the stage singing many fan favorites, including "Falling Down" and "My Dilemma."

As much as fans were eating up Gomez's original tunes, one highlight of the evening was her tribute to Britney Spears. Selena came out on stage in a blue scarf skirt reminiscent of Britney's "I'm a Slave 4 U" VMA performance outfit, and wowed the crowd with a medley of Spears' biggest hits. She kept the party atmosphere up for the rest of her set, and left the fans cheering for more, until she came out to sing "Who Says" as part of the encore. The night ended with a cover of the '70s classic "Magic," and Selena bringing out her opening acts for a final bow together.

2011 MTV VMA Round-Up

Selena Gomez hit the black carpet in style last night at the 2011 MTV VMAs on Sunday (August 28) at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles.

Selena rocked as pre-show hostess for the big night, having an opportunity to interview a range of artists including Demi Lovato, Britney Spears, Jessie J & Justin Bieber! In addition to her pre-show hosting duties Selena also joined actor Taylor Lautner to present Tyler, The Creator with Best New Artist.
